Pat McGrew · Fast Forward · drupa dog · cartoons · road runner · future
Bailey is the official dog of the McGrew Group. She is my co-host, Drupa dog. I have a wall full of them. And they’re not all Disney. They’re a little bit of everything. I grew up in the 60s with Saturday morning cartoons. I grew up with all the Disney pieces. My business partner at the time bought me the first cel. Which was of George Jetson and Astro. And then it got to be a thing. I always loved the roadrunner. I lived in New Mexico for five years. We moved into a house almost eight years ago that had a giant family room. And it also had sort of a more living room area. It has books, animation cels, the TV. But I also have a fireplace. But my space isn’t really as big. I never wanted to be an independent consultant. I like the camaraderie of working for an organization. I can write technology. I understand where the vendors are. And whether they are hardware or software. And I understand the printing side of it. I’ve actually been able to craft a good assessment business. A good consulting business. A good writing business. It is harder and harder to be a one brand person. As an independent, I can work with everybody. I am sixty four. I’ve been walking around singing the Beatles song a lot. I think I’ve got a good 10 years at this. I think there is opportunity. We have three restaurants. We are remaining hopeful that by summer we’ll be able to get them all open and full again. Everybody’s had the last year to kind of sit in the lab and figure out what they needed to do. They’ve been busy. I mean, everyone that I work with has been busy. More interesting inkjet innovations. More interesting toner innovations. More interesting substrate innovations. And you put those all together. I’m excited.

Pat McGrew · McGrew Group · HP PreDrupa Event
Do you think HP is good at listening to their customers? Pat McGrew gives her insights into this complex question. Fortunately, HP addresses most of the talk of the trade, but the hot topics like workflow/automation and how to get more customers into our industry are not discussed much. Enjoy!
Pat McGrew · President McGrew Group · NON-EVENT23
The last presentation at this year's NON-EVENT23 was with Pat McGrew, who, based on chats with a couple of printers, gave an outlook for 2024 - with many good questions from the audience. Enjoy the presentation. Soon, you will also have an outlook for 2024 by editor Morten B. Reitoft - and as we are entering into a drupa year - much to expect :-)
Editor's Outlook Presented by · Pat McGrew · McGrew Group · at the NON-EVENT '22
A few months before the NON-EVENT took place, on December 1st, we asked Pat McGrew to interview four editors about their views on the future. The result is four great interviews with Dan Brunton from UK-based Brunton Business Publications, Janet Maitland and Stephanie Gaddin from the Australian-based Image publishing group, Alexia Rizzi from Italian-based Stratego Group, and finally, Tony Curcio, Editor for Graphic Arts Magazine based in Canada. Four exciting and very different views on the future - and, of course, all to learn from! Thanks to Pat McGrew for doing these interviews.
